Prevailing Defense rests on two convictions; the ultimate victory for civilian self defense is the fight they're never in, and that preparedness saves lives. While we prepare students to prevail decisively with a firearm when life requires it, our priority is developing the awareness, judgment, and psychological preparedness that allow responsible armed citizens to avoid and end violence as quickly as possible.We train from the “software” side: the physical coordination, mental conditioning, and rapid decision-making of the human under extreme stress without screaming at our students. The gun in your hand is secondary. What determines the outcome in a sudden violent encounter is the trained, responsible individual behind the trigger and their ability to act lawfully and effectively when milliseconds matter.This approach is grounded in real-world lived situations where deadly force was legally justified yet successfully avoided through superior positioning, awareness, judgment and studied cases when violence was unavoidable. Our mission is to develop responsible, sensible armed citizens into highly skilled “unfair” gunfighters: people whose training and mindset give them a decisive advantage if violence becomes unavoidable.
